"Transfer" means a move between custodians. "Out of custody" may not state where the person went. A delayed message can describe an event that occurred earlier. Note both the displayed event time and the alert time, then ask the custodian whether another agency received the person.

Confirm Sharkey County VINELink Releases
For a Sharkey booking, the Sheriff's jail docket or release entry is the direct source. Contact the office at 662-873-1500 and ask for the event date, time, type, and destination. A court order can explain legal authority, but it does not prove the moment staff completed physical release. For an old event, a narrow Public Records Act request is stronger than an absent VINELink result.
For an MDOC sentence, use the official MDOC Inmate Search or Parolees Search by name or MDOC number. The MDOC record can show state status, location, sentence details, and a tentative release date when present. A tentative date is not an actual event. If the date or completed status is unclear, request the time sheet, release document, or discharge information from MDOC Records.
A federal prisoner should be searched in the BOP Inmate Locator. Present immigration detention uses ICE ODLS. Neither replaces the Sharkey County record, and "not in BOP custody" does not rule out another custodian. Keep county, state, federal, and immigration findings in separate lanes.

Limited Sharkey County Registry Trace
The Mississippi Sex Offender Registry is not a general released-inmate search. It applies only to people with a statutory registration duty.
