Information You Submit
Search entries
A name, place, or other term entered in a search box is sent to the third-party company that operates that tool. Sharkey County Released Inmates does not keep or log those search terms on its own systems.
Messages
If you send an email or contact message, the information in it may be retained long enough to review and answer the request. It is not shared outside the organization unless disclosure is legally required.
Technical Data Collected Automatically
Standard technical records may be created when a page loads. They can include:
- The connecting IP address
- Browser name and version
- Device category and operating system
- Pages viewed and time spent
- A referring website, when supplied
- Date and time stamps
Cookies
Cookies and similar tools can help measure how visitors use the site. Most browsers let users refuse or remove cookies. Blocking them may change how some features work.
How Information Is Used
Collected information may be used for the following operational purposes:
- Maintain speed and basic site functions
- Send a search request to the selected partner service
- Understand which pages visitors use
- Detect errors and repair technical problems
- Present advertising that may reflect visitor interests
Links and Advertising Systems
Links lead to sheriff and corrections pages, release-record sources, public portals, and outside search tools. After a visitor follows a link, the destination's privacy policy controls its collection and use of data.
Some advertising companies may use their own systems to recognize activity across different websites and select interest-based ads. That tracking occurs on their platforms, not in a record maintained by Sharkey County Released Inmates.
Parties That May Receive Data
Personal data is not sold. Depending on how the site is used, information may pass to:
- Search partners that process a submitted query
- Analytics providers that measure site use
- Advertising networks that deliver ads
- Law enforcement or another government body acting under a valid legal order
Reasonable Security Measures
Common safeguards are used to protect information under the site's control. No online service, transmission method, or storage system is completely secure, so a breach-proof guarantee cannot be made.
Adults Only
This site is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. A parent or guardian who believes a minor submitted information may use the contact page to request deletion.
Your Information Choices
Subject to applicable law and the ability to verify a request, a user may:
- Ask for a copy of personal data held by the site
- Request correction of inaccurate information
- Ask that personal data be erased
- Opt out of certain processing where that choice applies
